The Polterabend should not be confused with the Poltergeist which is a totally different thing and has nothing to do with our wedding.  This peagan tradition takes place the night before the weddding.   Friends and neighbors wish the couple good luck by breaking porcelan plates and cups (no glass!!!). We will have a polterabend in Freiburg the night before the ceremony.  All friends and family that can make it to the event are very welcome.  Please do not bring excessive amounts of fine china and porcelan.  The bride and groom are relatively old and excessive use of broom and shovel might impede the wedding ceremony as well as night.  Once we know the exact location for the Polterabend, it will be announced on this page.
